The purpose of hosting the Order of the Knights of Pythagoras, 2016 Young Men with a Purpose, Youth Leadership Conference allows KOP councils from around the state to come together for fun, fellowship, and training. This conference also serves as our annual meeting for all Youth Knights, Sir Knights, and Parent Clubs in the state of Texas. We often receive and welcome guest from other states. The conferences consisted of various competitions which include but not limited to debate competition, statewide basketball tournament, oratorical competition, report card competition, brain bowl and etc. This year will serve as the 11th college and university we have visited in the state of Texas since 2005. The reason for hosting our conferences on college campuses is to plant the seed of how vital it is for them to attend a school of higher education. Our Youth Knights have the opportunity to visit the campuses we attend, learn in college classrooms, and experience meals being provided in college cafeteria, and to overall experience college life for a weekend.

TRAINING OPERATION S.W.A.G. (Setting, Working, & Achieving Goals). This year’s youth leadership conference will focus on the importance of setting, working, and achieving goals. Setting achievable goals is one of the most important habits a young man should have in his life. Getting them to recognize the importance of writing down their goals, showing them how to take steps to achieve their goal using the SMART system will hopefully show them how to be successful.
