History

In 2005, the Texas KOP program issued a letter that set a goal which outlined its project to visit every four (4) year historical black college and university in the State of Texas. At that time, the Texas KOP had already seen Paul Quinn College (Dallas) in 2001. In 2005 the Texas KOP planned to visit Prairie View A&M University (Prairie View). As of July 2019, the KOP has held its youth leadership conferences at seven (7) of the eight (8) four-year HBCU's in Texas. In 2019 the Texas KOP traveled to Georgia for their 2019 Young Men's Empowerment (Y-Me) Leadership Conference. The conference was hosted at Fort Valley State University (HBCU), and they visited Clark Atlanta University (HBCU) in Atlanta. The meeting was a partnership with other state KOP programs (NY, VA, GA, and DC).
